(diplomsko delo)
Abstract
Metodologija: V zaključnem delu sta uporabljeni deskriptivna metoda dela in kvantitativna metoda raziskovanja.
Slednji so z učinki zadovoljni, saj so bolj sproščeni in umirjeni.

Secondary abstract: |
Introduction: Epilepsy is a central nervous system disorder which does not affect only human body but it also affects human’s life in general. Epilepsy is manageable with antiepileptic medications, in some cases with surgery and vagal nerve stimulation. With managing epilepsy life in general can improve and the quality of life increases. Managing epilepsy is also possible with alternative or complementary methods such as meditation and yoga. These complementary methods have been known for centuries and its positive affect on body as spirit has been confirmed and proved.
Methodology: In diploma paper we used descriptive method and quantitative method of work. The research took place in Univerzitetni klinični center Maribor. We carried out the questionnaires among patients diagnosed with epilepsy, aged from 20 to 60 years, who have regular appointments in neurological clinic. We wanted to find out whether patients with epilepsy, aged from 20 to 60 years, practice yoga or meditation in order to improve quality of their life.
Results: The research showed that not many patients with epilepsy practice yoga nor meditation. Even though only 26% of respondents meditate or practice yoga the majority of respondents believe that complementary methods can improve a quality of one’s life.
Discussion: Even though more than a half of participants is acquainted with meditation and yoga, only 26,7% of them meditates or practises yoga. Those are pleased with its effects, meditating or practicing yoga relaxes them and it keeps them calm. |
