Abstract

Prve meritve so bile izvedene leta 2009. Vzorec je zajemal 231 učenk. Druge meritve pa leta 2017. Raziskovalni vzorec je zajemal 158 učenk. Za pridobivanje podatkov o spolu, starosti in telesni samopodobi smo pri obeh generacijah uporabili prevod francoske verzije vprašalnika za ugotavljanje telesne samopodobe mladostnikov PSI-SF - The Physical Self-Inventory-short form. Telesne razsežnosti učenk so bile izmerjene s pomočjo standardiziranega antropometričnega instrumentarija. Telesna samopodoba deklet postaja vedno bolj strukturirana in dekleta postajajo dovzetnejša in vse bolj kritična do svojega lastnega telesa.

Secondary title: Comparison of the correlation between morphological characteristics and physical self-concept in girls in late childhood between years of 2009 and 2017
Secondary abstract: The main purpose of the master's thesis was to compare the correlation between morphological characteristics and physical self-concept of girls between 2009 and 2017. The study involved girls who were between 9 and 11 years old in 2009 and 2017. The first measurements were made in 2009. The sample consisted of 231 female students. The second measurements were made in 2017. The research sample included 158 female students. For both generations, the French version of the PSI-SF Adolescent Body Questionnaire - The Physical Self-Inventory-short form, was used to obtain data on gender, age and physical self-concept. The pupils' morphological characteristics were, however, measured using a standardized anthropometric instrumentation. Regression analysis was used to determine the relationship between morphological characteristics and physical self-concept. Statistical significance was confirmed in case the value of p ▫$\leq$▫ 0,05. The results of the regression analysis show that morphological characteristics statistically significantly explain differences in physical self-concept only in 11-year-old girls of both generations. The results show that differences in physical self-concept are statistically significantly explained by subcutaneous fat. The more subcutaneous fat girls have, the lower their body image. This is exactly what happened at the age of 11, as we expected, as with the years and with the approaching adolescence individuals' attitudes towards their own body begins to change, and their own physical appearance begins to be compared among peers. Girls' physical self-concept is becoming more structured and girls are becoming more responsive and increasingly critical of their own bodies.
