Abstract

Secondary title: "MoVi" activation table - time norms
Secondary abstract: Background: Impaired hand function influences all areas of human occupation. Several assessment measures are being used to identify the extent of impairment, among them also »MoVi activation table« with its function boards. It represents a new assessment measure in Slovenia for assessing hand function on the level of body function, structures and activity. The aim of this paper is to present the measurement of time norms for 15 tasks which are performed on this table. Methods: There were 120 participants involved, equally divided between genders, and also divided into four age groups. The inclusion criteria were absence of musculoskeletal and cognitive problems. Results: On average, the men were quicker than women, but statistically relevant difference was observed only in one third of the tasks. Test ANOVA showed a significant statistical difference between the performance with a dominant and non-dominant hand (performance of the latter was longer), and between age groups (younger participants were faster) with all the tasks (p < 0.0001). Conclusions: »MoVi activation table has the therapeutic and assessing purpose. Time norms of tasks were made for four age groups both genders, bimanually, with dominant and non-dominant hand.
