Abstract

Virtualizacija je postala priljubljen način za učinkovitejšo uporabo strežniških virov tako znotraj zasebnih podatkovnih centrov kot na javnih oblačnih platformah. V magistrskem delu so predstavljeni virtualizacija, njene prednosti in slabosti ter orodja za virtualizacijo. Z uporabo raziskovalnih metod eksperimenta in analize pridobljenih rezultatov so primerjana virtualizacijska orodja Hyper-V, VMWare in Citrix. Za vsako posamezno orodje so izvedeni različni testi na različnih operacijskih sistemih, s katerimi prikažemo učinkovitost delovanja vsakega orodja. Primerjalna analiza pripelje do zaključka, da ni popolnega hipernadzornika.

Secondary title: A comprehensive comparison of virtualisation tools
Secondary abstract: Virtualisation has become a popular way of more effective use of server resources within internal datacentres, as well as on public cloud platforms. The Master’s thesis presents virtualisation, its advantages and weaknesses, and virtualisation tools. The virtualisation tools Hyper-V, VMWare and Citrix have been compared during the experiment and the obtained data analysed as the research methods. Different tests on different operating systems have been performed for each individual tool, with which we show the performance efficiency of each tool. The comparative analysis has led to the conclusion that there is no perfect hypervisor.
