diplomsko delo visokošolskega študijskega programa Varnost in policijsko delo

Abstract

Poseben poudarek smo namenili onesnaževanju zraka, porabi in onesnaževanju voda, krčenju deževnih gozdov in pesticidom, ki so uporabljeni v procesu kmetovanja. V diplomskem delu smo uporabili tri metode raziskovanja. Analizo sekundarnih virov smo uporabili zaradi teoretične narave diplomske naloge.

Secondary title: Consequences of livestock production on the environment
Secondary abstract: In this diploma thesis we will talk about topic that we do not hear about very often. We will talk about the environmental impact of livestock production. Global warming began with the development of industrialization, and many today still believe that the use of fossil fuels is crucial to environmental pollution. Not many people are aware of the negative consequences of livestock produciton, so we decided to explore this topic in detail and analyze the actual negative impacts of livestock production on the environment. During the research, we tried to find the main causes and consequences that arise in the process of producting feed for animals, which are ment for human consumption, breeding of these animals and consumption of meat and dairy products. Particular focus was placed on air pollution, consumption and pollution of water, rain forest deforestation and pesticides used in the farming process. In this diploma we used three methods of research. Descriptive method was used to describe the problem of livestock production, as the largest polluter of our planet. With this method we obtained information and answers to questions which we set ourselves fort this diploma. We used the research method as an interview. With help of environmental organization we tried to find out why, in spite of all the environmental pollution presentations, members of these organizations are not very much concerned with the problem of livestock production and what is their aspect in this field. The analysis of secondary sources was used because of the theoretical nature of this diploma. They are based on information obtained from primary sources. In this way we were able to access various statistical data and other data from articles and other sources for exploring this topic. In order to keep our environment clean, it will not be enough to take into account only instructions from environmental organizations. To acheve this goal, we will have to completely change the eating habits we know today.
