magistrsko delo
Abstract
V magistrskem delu smo določali prisotnost težkih kovin v vzorcih rib (iverka, skuša, morski list), školjk (klapavica) in alg.
Izvedli smo delno validacijo analizne metode za določanje arzena (As), barija (Ba), kadmija (Cd), kroma (Cr), mangana (Mn), niklja (Ni), svinca (Pb) in stroncija (Sr) z uporabo induktivno sklopljene plazme z optično emisijsko spektrometrijo (ICP-OES).

Determination of heavy metals in seafood by ICP-OES |
Secondary abstract: |
In this master thesis the presence of heavy metals in samples of fish (flounder, mackerel, sole), shellfish (mussels), and algae is determined.
A partial validation of the analytical method for the determination of arsenic (As), barium (Ba), cadmium (Cd), chromium (Cr), manganese (Mn), nickel (Ni), lead (Pb), and strontium (Sr) was carried out using inductively coupled plasma with optical emission spectrometry (ICP-OES). We determined the limit of detection (LOD), the limit of quantification (LOQ), the linearity of the method, the precision as repeatability of the method, and the accuracy of the method. We evaluated the linearity of the method by calculating the square of the correlation coefficient, and it was satisfactory for all measured analytes (r2 ≥ 0.9990). We evaluated the precision as the repeatability of the method by calculating the relative standard deviation (RSD) of the measurements of standard solutions, and it was satisfactory for all measured analytes (RSD ≤ 20.0 %). The accuracy of the method was evaluated by recovery calculation, and was satisfactory (between 80.0 % and 120.0 %) for all the analytes measured. The real samples were prepared by microwave-assisted acid digestion (65% HNO3). The concentration of As in the flounder sample exceeded the concentration range of the benchmark dose (BMDL01) set by the Panel on Contaminants in the food chain (CONTAM). In the mackerel sample, the Cd concentration was above the limit value set by the European Commission (EUC). The content of Ba, Cr, Mn, Ni, and Sr in real samples did not exceed the limit values, or limit values are not established. Pb was found in real samples. |
