Abstract

Secondary title: Decreasing energy consumption of sensor nodes with interpolation algorithms
Secondary abstract: This master's thesis describes the making of a temperature meter with an energy-saving algorithm for use in the internet of things. Making of the meter is based on an algorithm, which predicts the next measured temperature, using Newton's interpolation. An algorithm with spline-based interpolation is also described. It is used if the temperature is not needed to be displayed in real-time. The goal is to create a prototype meter that is compact, efficient, affordable, and offers the longest possible battery life. In addition to the theoretical background and description of the meter, a comprehensive experimental part is included in this thesis.
