Abstract

Secondary title: Effects and cost of manufacturing wood chips with cutter Eschlböck biber 70-RM
Secondary abstract: The usage of wooden biomass in Slovenia is growing and the same applies to thedemand. In our diploma they have focused on the effects and costs of the production of wood chips which we have acquired with filming and measuring of the Eschlböck Biber 70-rm with tractor JCB Fastrac 3230 powered chipper. They have also established the fuel consumption and measured the moisture and watercontents in wood chips. They have chopped down bare wood, cut-down remains and slabs in the process. The snap - beck chronometric method has beenused to establish the structure of working hours. Both fuel consumption and costs were determined by the standard method. The moisture in wood chips has been measured with a FMG 3000 hygrometer. They have ascertained that the chipper is suitable for both fresh and dry inbound raw material. A tractor powered chipper achives good effects but needs more time for their production because of its movement around in the warehouse. They have also established the fuel consumption to be proportional with the quantity of made wood chips. To achieve the fixed European energy goals, the usage of wood chips needs to increase. There are too many registered chippers that add to the produced quantity which lies above the Slovenian consumption level. At the moment, export seems to be the only solution possible.
