Abstract

Secondary title: Shift work in connection with nurses' sleep, work performance and burnout
Secondary abstract: Theoretical background: Shift work is inevitable and necessary in the profession of nurses. Good leadership in the organization of work is crucial in preventing the unfavorable factors of shift work. The purpose of completing the work was to identify the association of shift work with time, work performance and burnout. Research methods: In the final part, a descriptive method of work was used. A systematic review of the scientific literature was performed using the PRISMA method. A literature search was conducted in four databases of these: PubMeb, Medline, CINAHL, and ScienceDirect were included in the exclusive criteria, based on keywords in the backlog of research questions. Results: With the help of content analysis, we have found out, that in most of the studies, there was a large connection between the shift work with sleep, work performance and burnout of nurses. Better results are achieved by nurses who can volunteer to do shift work, and leadership is also important in preventing negative factors
