Abstract

Motorji z notranjim zgorevanjem so zaradi emisij, ki jih sproščajo, pod velikim pritiskom okoljskih predpisov. Proizvajalci avtomobilov iščejo nove načine kako povečati izkoristek zgorevanja in zmanjšati količino nastalih emisij. Da bi bili motorji z notranjim zgorevanjem konkurenčni novim, bolj zelenim pogonskim tehnologijam, se je v bencinski motor z direktnim vbrizgom vgradil sistem vžiga s pred-komoro. V magistrskem delu je opisana numerična analiza zgorevanja v motorju z direktnim vbrizgom in pred-komoro. Poudarek je na razvoju simulacijske metode v programu AVL FIRE™ in primerjavi zgorevanja v motorju z navadno svečko in v motorju s pred-komoro. Rezultati kažejo znatno povečan izkoristek zgorevanja pri uporabi pred-komore.

Secondary title: Numerical simulation of gasoline engine with pre-chamber
Secondary abstract: Internal combustion engines are under great environmental pressure due to greenhouse emissions. Car manufacturers are looking for new ways of improving combustion process in sense of greater efficiency and lower emissions. To compete with new, greener technologies, such as electrical driven vehicles, a new technology of pre-chamber ignition system was implemented in direct injected gasoline engine (GDI). In scope of this master’s thesis an investigation of pre-chamber ignited GDI engine was done by means of CFD. The focus was on simulation workflow development in AVL FIRE™ program package. Special attention was also paid to investigation of differences between combustion behavior in conventional spark ignited engine and pre-chamber ignited engine. Results show that pre-chamber significantly improves combustion efficiency.
