Abstract
V magistrskem delu proučujemo čustveno inteligentnost študentov eno- in dvopredmetnega študija pedagogike na Filozofski fakulteti v Mariboru. Ozavestiti želimo njen pomen, ugotoviti njeno poznavanje in razširjenost med študenti pedagogike. Najprej teoretično predstavimo čustveno inteligentnost: njene komponente, vpliv na posamezne vidike življenja, možnosti razvijanja, vlogo pedagoških delavcev pri čustveni inteligentnosti učencev ter njen pomen v življenju študentov. Nadalje v empirični raziskavi, kjer je sodelovalo 108 študentov, z anketnimi vprašalniki raziskujemo poznavanje pojma, vključenost pojma in tehnik razvijanja na študijski smeri pedagogike, uporabo načinov razvijanja ter s ESCQ vprašalnikom emocionalne kompetentnosti višino čustvene inteligentnosti študentov pedagogike. Podatke smo obdelali z deskriptivno statistiko, Kruskal-Wallisovim preizkusom, ▫$x^2$▫-preizkusom in analizo variance. Ugotovili smo dobro poznavanje čustvene inteligentnosti, a slabo vključenost le-te na študijski smeri. Za razvijanje čustvene inteligentnosti študenti navajajo predvsem prepoznavanje in razumevanje lastnih čustev ter pozornost na neverbalno komunikacijo. Ugotavljamo, da je čustvena inteligentnost študentov dobro razvita in se viša z letnikom študija ter s povprečno oceno.

The Master's thesis is undertaken to explore emotional intelligence of pedagogy students at the Faculty of Arts in Maribor. Our aims are raising awareness of its importance, determining its familiarity and level among pedagogy students. First, the theoretical part reviews literature regarding emotional intelligence: its components, impact on various aspects of life, development opportunities, the teaching staff's role in their learners' emotional intelligence and its significance in students' lives. In the empirical study, involving 108 students, we use a questionnaire to gather information on the knowledge of the concept, its incorporation at the department of pedagogy, methods applied for its development and finally, we use ESCQ Emotional skills and competence questionnaire to determine the level of emotional intelligence among pedagogy students. Data were processed with descriptive statistics, Kruskal-Wallis test, ▫$x^2$▫-test and ANOVA Analysis of variance. We have found decent knowledge of emotional intelligence among students, despite its poor involvement at the department of pedagogy. In order to develop emotional intelligence, students most frequently cite recognition and understanding of their own emotions and attention to non-verbal communication. Their emotional intelligence is well developed and increases with both, the year of study and the average grade. |
