Abstract

Secondary abstract: In online user content we are often witnessing intolerance, discrimination and hate speech, which are results of anonymous digital environment. In our research we focused on hate speech in Slovenian user generated comments. We analyzed comments of three representatives of Slovenian media; RTV Slovenija, Mladina and Reporter. The findings of our research shows that users, who spread hate speech online, most often spread indirect hate speech. We also concluded that there is some connection between existing hate speech in media articles and hate speech in user generated comments. Our research also showed that users most often spread hate speech by irony, sarcasm and with ridicule.
