Abstract

V magistrskem delu smo s Fentonovo oksidacijo in kontinuirno ozonacijo oksidirali modelno farmacevtsko učinkovino (vankomicin) in določili njeno strupenost. Delali smo akutne strupenostne teste z vodnimi bolhami Daphnia magna. Fentonovo oksidacijo smo vedno izvajali po istem postopku, spreminjali smo le dodatek vodikovega peroksida. Ugotovili smo, da se strupenost po Fentonovi oksidaciji zmanjšuje z višanjem dodatka vodikovega peroksida. Inhibicija gibljivosti vodnih bolh pri tem pade iz 100 % na 5 %. Pri ozonaciji smo želeli ugotoviti, kako čas ozonacije vpliva na strupenost. Izkazalo se je, da so bili vsi vzorci po ozonaciji nestrupeni. Ključna je bila samo predhodna uravnava pH.

Secondary title: Evaluation of toxicity of a pharmaceutical ingredient after Fenton oxidation and ozonation
Secondary abstract: In the master's thesis we performed Fenton oxidation and continuous ozonation of model pharmaceutical ingredient (vancomycin) and determined its toxicity. We carry out acute toxicity tests with water flea Daphnia magna. Fenton oxidation was always carried out according to the same procedure, only hydrogen peroxide addition was changed. Our results showed that toxicity after Fenton oxidation decreased with increasing hydrogen peroxide addition. The inhibition of mobility of water flea falls from 100 % to 5 %. In ozonation we wanted to find out how the time of ozonation affects toxicity. It turned out that all the samples were non-toxic after ozonation. Only preliminary pH adjustment was crucial.
