Secondary title: | Finite element analysis of 2D transient heat transfer |
Secondary abstract: | This thesis considers a 2D transient heat transfer problem using finite element analysis. The goal of this consideration is to determine the methods that ABAQUS uses to solve the aforementioned types of problems. The results indicate that ABAQUS uses Gaussian quadrature to calculate the governing integrals. Integration of capacitance matrix is performed at element nodes. In order to calculate convective heat flux the value of average node temperatures is used while the calculation of radiation heat flux is performed using functional approximation with integration at node points. |
