(diplomsko delo)
Abstract
Raziskovalne metode: V teoretičnem delu smo uporabili deskriptivno oziroma opisno metodo dela.
Razprava in sklep: Osebe z duševno manjrazvitostjo predstavljajo majhen delež populacije, zato so postavljene bolj v ozadje kot ostale osebe z duševnimi motnjami.

Acceptance of person with mental retardation to the social environment |
Secondary abstract: |
Introduction: The final part presents the acceptance of people with mental retardation in the social environment by the general population. Mental retardation is a lack of intellectual ability that cannot be cured. However, by accepting and integrating into the social environment, we can enable people with mental retardation to live a more beautiful, fuller and better life.
Methods: In the theoretical part we used a descriptive method of work. The research which is based on a quantitative approach, was conducted with help of using a questionnaire. The study involved 100 people over the age of 20. The empirical part presents the results of the research. We determined the what extent to which people with mental retardation are accepted into the everyday social environment.
Results: The analysis of the research showed that people look at the mentally retarded as equal individuals and are not frightened by them when they meet them. The respondents have opinion that there is still insufficient care for the mentally retarded in Slovenia and much could be changed in this area.
Discussion and conclusion: People with mental retardation represent a small proportion of the population. Therefore, they are placed more in the background than other people with mental disorders. Nevertheless, the environment is getting increasingly more acceptable to people with mental retardation. More and more people see them as equal individuals with the right to make their own decisions. However, there is still a lack of awareness about this disease, so people need to be made even more aware of it in order to lose the unpleasant feeling of being different and accept it. |
