Vloga žvižgačev v novinarstvu

Abstract

V diplomski nalogi smo raziskali koncept žvižgaštva v povezavi z novinarskim delom. Podrobneje smo preučili pojem, razloge in posledice žvižgaštva ter ga umestili v teorijo množičnega komuniciranja. Preučili smo razliko med novinarskim virom in žvižgačem ter opisali njegovo funkcijo psa čuvaja. Na podlagi študije tujih in slovenskih primerov žvižgaških dejanj in intervjuja s preiskovalno novinarko Anuško Delić smo raziskali, na kakšen način mora potekati novinarjevo delo, kadar se ta sreča z žvižgačem. Raziskali smo tudi, kako na objavo informacij vplivata javni interes in pritiski s strani uredništva ali zunanjih organizacij.

Secondary abstract:	In this thesis, we explore the concept of whistleblowing with respect to journalism. First, we describe the concept of whistleblowers, its reasons, the consequences for the act of whistleblowing and how it is presented in the theory of mass communication. We examine the differences between a journalistic source and a whistleblower, together with its watchdog function. Furthermore, we analyse journalist's work when met with whistleblowers through a case study of several Slovenian and foreign whistleblowing cases together with an interview with an investigative journalist Anuška Delić. Finally, we explore the influences that the public interest, the pressure from the editorial board, or government organizations might exert on the actual publication of sensitive information.
