Abstract

Diplomska naloga opisuje sintezo maghemitnih nanodelcev in njihovo površinsko modifikacijo s surfaktantom citronsko kislino. Namen raziskave je bil ustvariti stabilne ferofluide, ki bi lahko služili kot gonilna raztopina v procesu napredne osmoze za čiščenje odpadne vode. Preučen je bil vpliv različnih parametrov na velikost osmotskega tlaka končnega produkta. Tekom eksperimentalnega dela smo optimizirali temperaturo, množinsko razmerje med reaktanti in uporabili različne tekočine za spiranje. Najboljši rezultati so bili doseženi pri sintezi s temperaturo adsorpcije 80 ℃, v množinskem razmerju 〖Fe〗^(2+):〖Fe〗^(3+):CA (citronska kislina) 2,3:1:2,3, in čiščenju delcev z etanolom. Nanodelci so bili karakterizirani s termogravimetrično analizo (TGA), dinamičnim sipanjem svetlobe (DLS), Fourierjevo transformirano infrardečo spektroskopijo (FTIR), transmisijsko elektronsko mikroskopijo (TEM) in magnetnimi meritvami, s katerimi smo določili izgubo mase, izoelektrično točko, funkcionalne skupine in magnetne lastnosti. V tej diplomski nalogi so zbrani podatki vseh sintez, ki so bile izvedene in rezultati, ki so bili izmerjeni. Podana je tudi diskusija samih rezultatov s slikami in grafi, ki so bili posneti tekom izvajanja zaključnega dela. Vrednosti osmotskega tlaka nakazujejo, da bi nekatere magnetne raztopine, pripravljene pri ustreznih reakcijskih pogojih, bile primerne za uporabo v napredni osmozi.

Secondary abstract: Thesis describes the synthesis of maghemite nanoparticles and their surface modification with the surfactant citric acid. The purpose of the research was to create stable ferrofluids that could serve as draw solutions in the forward osmosis process for wastewater treatment. The influence of different parameters on the size of the osmotic pressure was studied. During the experimental work, the temperature, molar ratio between reactants and the washing liquid were optimized. The best results were obtained in the synthesis with an adsorption temperature of 80℃, molar ratio 〖Fe〗^(2+):〖Fe〗^(3+):CA (citric acid) 2,3:1:2,3, superior cleaning liquid was determined to be ethanol. Nanoparticles were characterized with thermogravimetric analysis (TGA), dynamic light scattering (DLS), Fourier-transform infrared spectroscopy (FTIR), transmission electron microscopy (TEM) and magnetic measurements were also performed. Mass loss, isoelectric point, functional groups and magnetic properties were all measured. This diploma thesis contains data of all syntheses that were performed and the results that were measured. It also contains the discussion of the results with pictures and graphs which were obtained during implementation of the final work. Osmotic pressure values indicate that some magnetic solutions prepared under appropriate reaction conditions could be suitable for use in forward osmosis.
