Abstract

Secondary title: Trade exchange and foreign direct investment between European Union and China
Secondary abstract: In the degree project we are analyzing the position of the European Union and China in the world, their mutual trade and foreign direct investment flows, as well as opportunities and threats in both areas. By examining their key economic strategies, we have established that the European Union is focused on improving its economy, particularly in the environmental and digital aspects and fair trade, while China is focused on accelerating its international trade and investment flows and thus its greater role in the international economic space. Trade cooperation was analyzed according to the structure of trade in goods and services, and investment cooperation according to the flows of inward and outward foreign direct investment. We have found that mutual trade in goods and services has been growing steadily in recent years, while mutual foreign direct investment have been shrinking. We have realized that despite many fluctuations, economic cooperation between the European Union and China is still extensive and, according to the trends, it will remain the same in the coming years too.
