Abstract

V diplomski nalogi smo obravnavali pojem deepfake in njegov pojav, v povezavi s sodobno družbo, mediji in kriminaliteto.

Secondary title: Deepfakes and their influence on media and society
Secondary abstract: In this thesis we present and discuss the term deepfake, its emergence and influence, in the context of modern society, media, technology and criminality. It is new, therefore the influences and interpretations have not been discussed at large, as it is still evolving. Deepfakes uncover the problematic malicious misuse of artificial intelligence, to manipulate a certain audience. The consequences of such practices negatively influence democracy, society and individuals alike, but also companies, by disrupting authority, reputation and mental health. There are yet to be established successful safe keeping mechanisms in law and society alike, which leaves the victims at mercy of the attacker.
