diplomsko delo

Abstract

Secondary title: Functionalization of fibres using natural agents for medical aplications
Secondary abstract: The main topic of the diploma work was the functionalization of fibers with natural agents for medical applications. Natural agents (various plants, herbs) have always been a part of medicine and healing and are still used today. In fact, they are used more and more often, as they have been shown to be distinguished by various good properties, such as antimicrobiality, antioxidant properties, etc., which help to heal wounds or other diseases or conditions. Therefore, in this diploma thesis I have chosen natural agents known to us, the properties of which are more or less already researched. Among the most researched natural agents are, of course, chitosan, which is produced from chitin, and CBD oil and capsules, or its main active ingredient, cannabinoid. Other plants used, from which we obtain a natural agents in the form of oil or extract, were rosemary, St. John's wort, thyme and calendula. I compared these natural agents with each other, according to the tested methods for antimicrobiality and antioxidant properties. With the help of the gravimetric method, I proved the functionalization of the selected cellulose samples, namely how much of the finish was applied and how this affected the next obtained results.
