Abstract

V teoretičnem delu magistrskega dela je opredeljen pojem ekologija, predstavljene so značilnosti onesnaževanja in ravnanja z odpadki, zakaj je pomembno ekološko osveščanje ter kaj pomenita vzgoja in izobraževanje za trajnostni razvoj. Predstavljen je geografski in komunalni oris Obsotelja in Kozjanskega, program Ekošola, učni predmet spoznavanje okolja, zastopanost ekoloških vsebin v učbenikih, delovnih zvezkih in priročnikih za učitelje ter nekatere dosedanje raziskave o ekološki osveščenosti. V empiričnem delu je predstavljena raziskava o ekološki osveščenosti učencev tretjega razreda na območju Obsotelja in Kozjanskega, ki je bila izvedena v šolskem letu 2019/2020. Rezultati raziskave so pokazali, da učenci ekološke pojme dobro prepoznavajo in ustrezno ubesedijo. Zelo dobro skrbijo za čisto okolje tako doma, kot tudi v šoli. Najpogosteje skrb posvečajo ločevanju odpadkov in zbiranju starega papirja. Pri varčevanju so še posebej pozorni pri umivanju zob, ko večina učencev vodo vedno zapre. Zelo spodbuden je bil rezultat, da skoraj vsi učenci, razen enega, ustrezno ravnajo z odpadki kadar niso v bližini koša za smeti. Pozitivno je tudi to, da je večina učencev že vsaj enkrat uporabila odpadni material in iz njega naredila nov, uporaben izdelek. V splošnem bi lahko rekli, da so učenci tretjega razreda osnovnih šol v Obsotelju in na Kozjanskem dobro ekološko osveščeni.

Secondary title: Ecological awareness among 3rd grade pupils in Obsotelje and Kozjansko
Secondary abstract: The theoretical part of my master's thesis defines the term ecology and presents the characteristics of pollution and waste management, the importance of ecological awareness and the role of education for sustainable development. It also gives a geographical outline and an overview of the municipal infrastructure in the Obsotelje and Kozjansko regions and a description of the Eco-School programme, the school subject nature study, the presence of ecological contents in school textbooks, workbooks and in handbooks for teachers and of some studies on ecological awareness carried out to date. The empirical part presents a research on ecological awareness of third grade pupils in Obsotelje and Kozjansko which was conducted in the school year 2019/2020. The results of the research have shown that pupils easily recognise ecological contents and describe them appropriately. They take good care of the environment at home and at school. Their major concern is waste separation and waste paper collection. In energy saving, most pupils pay special attention to turning off the water while brushing their teeth. The fact that all pupils with the exception of one handle waste properly when there is no waste basket available was a very encouraging result. Another positive finding was that most pupils had used waste material at least once to make a new, useful product from it. In general, it could be said that ecological awareness among 3rd grade pupils in basic schools in Obsotelje and Kozjansko is at a high level.
