Secondary title: | Evaluation and comparison of Oldham and Schmidt coupling |
Secondary abstract: | The thesis deals with the role of couplings and description of the main features of Oldham and Schmidt couplings. This was followed by derivation of the angular velocity transmission between the input and output shafts at each coupling. The angular velocity is the same at the input and output shafts in both coupling. In the respect of Schmidt coupling the derivation has shown to determine the forces in connecting elements. Material is defined and all calculations necessary for construction of each coupling are performed. The finite element method follows where both couplings withstand the stresses we put on them. At the end we compare both couplings. Due to simplicity Oldham coupling is better choice when dealing with low radial misalignment. |
