Abstract

Secondary title: Standardization of the process of numerical estimation of the modal parameters of the starter motor
Secondary abstract: Goal of this assignment was standardization of the process of numerical modelling of the starter motor for the correct prediction of its modal parameters. Based on the measured natural frequencies and natural shapes of an individual starter motor, numerical model was prepared and its final validation was performed. The numerical model needs to be simplified to the extent that it still represents actual conditions on starter motor in the measurements, but is still manageable in terms of the system resources and computational times. The process of numerical modelling for the correct prediction of the modal parameters was then repeated for a few different designs of the starter motors, so the procedure was validated. Based on the acquired knowledge and experience, it is possible to predict, the first few modal parameters, already in the development phase.
