Abstract
Diplomska naloga govori o keramiki kot mediju v sodobni umetnosti. Glavni poudarek je na keramiki kot mediju v instalaciji.
V teoretičnem delu je najprej povzet skop zgodovinski oris od prazgodovine do konca 20. stoletja. Občasno se zdi, da je bila keramika s strani umetnosti zapostavljena, čeprav temu ni tako. Sledi razlaga besede keramika. Predstavljen je pojem sodobna umetniška keramika in opredeljen status keramike v likovni umetnosti v sodobnem času.
V naslednjem poglavju je opredeljen in razložen pojem instalacija. Zgodovinski razvoj instalacije je razdeljen na štiri poglavja, ki instalacijo razdelijo glede na tip izkušnje gledalca – povzeto po umetnostni teoretičarki Claire Bishop. V pregled so vključeni pomembni umetniki in umetniška dela. Opredeljen je položaj keramike v instalaciji in razloženo, kdaj se keramika prvič pojavi v prostorski razsežnosti. Sledi predstavitev izbranih umetnikov, ki v instalacije vključujejo keramiko.
V praktičnem delu sta predstavljeni dve avtorski deli. V sklepnem delu so povzeti ključni pojmi in spoznanja.

Secondary abstract: |
The diploma thesis is about ceramics as a medium in contemporary art. The main emphasis is
on ceramics as a medium in the installation. The theoretical part describes a sparse historical outline from prehistory to the end of the 20th century. At times, ceramics seem to have been underestimated by fine art. The concept of contemporary artistic ceramics and the status of ceramics in fine art are presented in my thesis. In the next section of my thesis, I define and explain the concept of the installation. The historical development of the installation is divided into four chapters, which divide the installation according to the type of viewer experience – summarized by art theorist Claire Bishop. Important artists and works of art are included in the review. It defines the position of the ceramic in the installation and explains when the ceramic first appears in the space dimension. The following is a presentation of selected artists who include ceramics in their installations.
In the practical part, two of my works are presented. The concluding part summarizes the key concepts and findings. |
