Secondary title: | Impact of Stoichiometry of the Reactants on the Polarization Curve of the Proton-Exchange-Membrane Fuel Cell |
Secondary abstract: | Measuring and analysing our PEM (Proton Exchange Membrane) fuel cells output power was the goal of this experiment. For it to work, we needed an input of hydrogen and oxygen (air), while maintaining proper humidity levels for the membrane. The cell was kept at a temperature of 70 °C throughout the whole course of the test. With the change in stoichiometry of either hydrogen or oxygen, we acquired different results. The logical assumption was, that an increase in the amount of reactants would cause a stronger output. Analysis showed different impacts on the cell output based on which reactants stoichiometry was changed. Changing the oxygen input showed a greater effect on the output as results showed a higher chance in a fall of stability of the process. |
