Abstract

Kino je v prejšnjem stoletju doživel številne spremembe. Z množičnim prihodom televizije se je izoblikovalo novo občinstvo in s tem so se spremenile medijske prakse ljudi. Cilj diplomske naloge je ugotoviti namen in pogostost obiskovanja kina ter ugotoviti, zakaj je gledanje televizije postalo bolj zaželeno od obiska kina. Odkriti želim, kako je nov medij vplival na starega, ki je uporabljal enako vsebino nadomeščenega medija. V prvem delu bom s kulturnim in zgodovinskim pregledom predstavila razvoj filma, kina in televizije. S pomočjo kvalitativne metode sem opravila deset intervjujev z dvema različnima generacijama, ki živita na obalnem območju Slovenije. Zanimale so me njihove navade pri uporabi teh dveh medijev in spremembe, ki so se zgodile z vzponom televizije. Poleg gledanja filmov so ljudje hodili v kino zaradi sprostitve, zabave in druženja. Ugotovila sem, da je starejša generacija pogosteje obiskovala kino kot mlajša. Gledanje televizije je v nasprotju s kinom udobneje, priročnejše in ponuja več vsebin.

Secondary title: Changes in Attending Cinema in the Age of Television
Secondary abstract: In the last century, cinema went through numerous changes. A new audience formed with the mass arrival of television, changing people's media practices. The goal of this paper is to identify the intention and frequency of cinema attendance and determine why watching television has become more desirable than attending cinema. I want to look into how the old medium was influenced by the new medium, which used the same content as the replaced medium. In the first part of the paper, I will present the evolution of film, cinema, and television through a cultural and historical overview. With the help of qualitative research, I conducted ten interviews with two different generations that live in the coastal area of Slovenia. I was interested in their habits relating to the use of these two media and changes that occurred with the rise of television. In addition to watching movies, people attended cinema because of relaxation, entertainment and socializing. I found out that the older generation attended cinema more frequently than the younger generation. In contrast to the cinema, watching television is more comfortable, more convenient, and offers more content.
