Abstract

Diplomsko delo se ukvarja s komodifikacijo emocionalnega dela v resničnostnih oddajah. Osredotočala se bom na vprašanje, kdaj govorimo o komodifikaciji emocionalnega dela in preiskovala načine, na katere poteka. V teoretskem delu, ki bo temeljilo na analizi sekundarnih virov, bom z namenom čim bolj jasnega razumevanja komodifikacije razčlenjevala tudi ostale pojme, za katere menim, da imajo vlogo pri delovanju načinov komodifikacije emocionalnega dela. Predvidevala bom, da so ti odvisni od družbe, v kateri poteka, oziroma ideologije, ki v njej prevladuje, zato se bom ukvarjala tudi s konceptoma neoliberalizma in egalitarizma. Bolj natančno me bodo zanimale njune značilnosti, kot se kažejo v resničnostnih oddajah, saj skušam odgovoriti na vprašanje, če je tekmovalni format oddaje, sicer značilen za neoliberalizem, lahko uspešen tudi v egalitarni družbi. Dotaknila se bom tudi teme adaptacije formatov. Empirični del bo temeljil na primeru Mali šef Slovenija, kjer bom skušala podkrepiti ugotovitve iz teoretskega dela; tj. razumevanja komodifikacije in pomembnost razumevanja njene povezave z družbo, v kateri poteka resničnostna oddaja in kjer se prva odvija.

Secondary title: Commodification of emotional labour in reality shows: case study of Mali šef Slovenija
Secondary abstract: The following thesis cowers the field of commodification of emotional labour in reality shows. I will focus on the question of when are we talking about commodification of emotional labour and I will be investigating ways in which itʹs happening. In the theoretical part, which is based on the analysis of secondary sources, I will, for the purpose of more clear understanding, describe all others concepts for which I think that have a role in the activities of commodification of emotional labour. I will be assuming that these activities are depended on the society in which commodification takes place or on the ideology that prevails in it and because of that I will also be focusing on the concepts of neoliberalism and egalitarianism. Specifically, I am interested in their characteristics that are shown in reality shows, because I am trying to answer the question if competitive format, that is typical for neoliberalism, can also be successful in egalitarian society. I will also touch on the topic of format adaptation. The empirical part will be based on the case study Mali šef Slovenija, where I will try to support the findings from the theoretical part; that is the understanding of commodification and the importance of understanding its connection with the society in which the reality show takes place and where the former is seen.
