Secondary title: | Composite manufacturing by autoclave process and the influence of fiber volume fraction on tensile strength |
Secondary abstract: | In the theoretical part of the thesis, we described the composition, manufacture and properties of the polymer composite. We also defined potential defects in the composite and described the autoclave manufacturing process in more detail. The final paper also presents the theoretical calculations of the longitudinal and transverse tensile strength of a composite with oriented fibers depending on the volume fraction of fibers. We presented the difference between longitudinal and transverse tensile strength with respect to the volume fraction of fibers and confirmed that the longitudinal tensile strength of the composite is proportional to the volume fraction of fibers. We also found that the transverse tensile strength increases exponentially with a volume fraction greater than 90%, and below this proportion it is strongly defined by the strength of the matrix. |
