Abstract

Anketiranci so v povprečju v zadostnih količinah shranjevali krompir, rdečo peso v kisu, suhomesnate izdelke, sladkor in sol.

Secondary title: Emergency food supplies in households
Secondary abstract: Emergency situations are often consequences of natural and other disasters. Recently more frequent dangers are migrations, epidemics and terrorist attacks. Emergency situations can cause an interruption of the food-supply chain and residents could quickly become depend only on their own food storage. For that reason, it makes sense to be prepared for such sudden emergency events and to have appropriate food supply in household. The aim of the thesis was to assess if respondents know Slovenian recommendations for emergency food supply in households and to check conformity of actual food supply in respondent’s households with Slovenian recommendations. Results showed that the majority (60 %) had never noticed the Slovenian recommendations for preparation for emergency events. On average their household food supply was insufficient in comparison with recommendations. Food that complied with recommendations was potato, pickled-beetroot, dry meat products, sugar and salt. Food that respondents had the least was bottled water (7% of the recommended amount) and rusk (8% of the recommended amount). Results also showed that respondents who are living in smaller settlements, had bigger amount of the food supplies in their households. We also found out, that the majority bought higher quantities of food, due to the situation of the epidemic SARS-CoV-2 (COVID-19), which occurred in Slovenia at the time of the survey.
