Abstract

Ortoza je mehanični pripomoček, ki s pomočjo zunanjih sil varuje, obnavlja in izboljšuje določene gibalne funkcije. Ortoze za gleženj in stopalo (OGS) so najpogosteje predpisane ortoze spodnje ekstremitete in se uporabljajo pri osebah z različnimi okvarami ali poškodbami spodnje okončine, največkrat v primeru padca stopala kot pomoč oslabelim dorzifleksijskim mišicam. Ker se število obravnav na rehabilitaciji vsako leto viša ter je čim hitrejša obravnava in oskrba z ustreznimi ortetičnimi pripomočki osnovna pravica vsakega zavarovanega posameznika, želimo trenutni konvencionalni postopek izdelave, ki je zamuden, drag in pomanjkljiv nadomestiti oziroma izboljšati z vpeljavo različnih digitalnih tehnologij. Predstavljen postopek izdelave se orientira po principu hitrega prototipiranja in kot prvi korak obsega zajem geometrije obravnavanega uda s pomočjo 3D-skenerjev ali preko posnetkov računalniške tomografije (CT), kateri se uporabijo kot vhodni podatki pri nadaljnji obdelavi. Z izbrano programsko opremo in postopkom računalniško podprtega konstruiranja (CAD) se izdela direkten pozitiv okončine. Ker pri zajemanju anatomskih površin ud v večini primerov ni v nevtralnem položaju, pred izdelavo modela OGS, ud na podlagi poznavanja osnovne biomehanike orientiramo do željene korekcije. Sledi opis postopka 3D modeliranja ortoze, katera je lahko kasneje osnova za izdelavo OGS z uporabo aditivnih tehnologij (3D-tisk). Proces izdelave ortoz s pomočjo digitalnih tehnologij lahko dodatno nadgradimo s popolno avtomatizacijo postopka, kar ponuja možnost in idejno usmeritev za nadaljnje delo.

Secondary title: Production of 3D geometric models of lower limb orthoses
Secondary abstract: An orthosis is an external force system applied to a segment of the body to control motion, improve gait and correct or prevent deformity. Ankle-foot orthoses (AFO) are among the most commonly prescribed lower limb orthoses and are used for various lower limb impairments. They are commonly prescrribed solutions for individuals with foot drop to support weakened dorsiflextion muscles. As the number of rehabilitation treatments increases every year and orthotics services play an essential role in enabling quality life for people with disabilities, we want to replace or improve current conventional manufacturnig process, which is time-consuming, expensive and deficient. Presented manufacturing process is based on rapid prototyping (RP) techniques. The process is engineered to utilize surface data, of the patient anatomy as a digital input, which is captured with 3D scanning or CT imaging techniques. By using computer aided design (CAD) software, we generate direct lower limb model. In most cases, while capturing anatomical surfaces, the limb is not in a neutral position and it needs to be oriented based on the knowledge of biomechanics. The following is a description of the 3D modeling process, which can later be used as a base for additive manufacturing (AM). Use of digital technologies in the field of orthotics can later be upgraded with full automation process, which offers the possibility and conceptual direction for further work.
