Secondary abstract: | A liquid crystal inside small cubic regions with dimensions of some micrometers were dealt with. This area gained a lot of interest because of its potential for LCDs, that doesn't need electrical field to show a picture. Their response to applied electric field and their dependence on temperature were tested and examined. With theoretical calculations we predict several stable states and define them by their characteristics. |
