Abstract

Govor smo transkribirali in analizirali s pomočjo računalniškega programa Praat. Raziskava obsega analizo 1262 govornih segmentov, na podlagi katerih smo izračunali hitrost govora, in 1270 premorov.

Secondary title: Effects of Speech Rate on Pause Duration in Newscaster Speech on the Examples of Two News Broadcasts – 24ur and Dnevnik.
Secondary abstract: The aim of the bachelor's thesis was to discover the possible correlation between the speech rate and pause duration in newscaster speech based on computer research. The thesis opens with a definition of the professional newscaster speech, and then provides a description of two prosodic parameters - speech rate and pause, followed by the description, conduct, results and analysis of the research. In the context of our research, we studied the speech of four television newscasters: a male and female one from each of the two news broadcasts - 24ur and Dnevnik. Such a choice of speakers enabled us to compare the speech between the two broadcasts as well as between the sexes. The speech was transcribed and analysed by means of the computer programme Praat. The research comprises an analysis of 1262 speech segments, which has served as a basis for the calculation of speech rate, and 1270 pauses.
