magistrsko delo

Abstract

Čeprav teoretična poglavja magistrske naloge predstavljajo pare in njihov boj z neplodnostjo, drugi del z izvedeno empirično raziskavo po fenomenološkem modelu ponuja poglobitev v čustveno doživljanje posameznih partnerjev.

Secondary title: Partnership of infertile couples
Secondary abstract: This master’s thesis studies what partners in a relationship feel when struggling with infertility. The infertility diagnosis changes partners and their relationship to the extent where they are called to reevaluate the meaning of life. In the first part of the master’s thesis, its author presents key fields of the selected topic. She first highlights general findings of medical experts and goes on to present the profession that deals with the inner psychological world of individuals. She presents key factors for the establishment and development of a relationship and describes infertility factors, which affect the relationship between partners. While theoretical chapters of this master’s thesis present couples and their fight against infertility, the second part describes the empirical research, conducted following the phenomenological model, which offers an opportunity to immerse in the emotions experienced by individual partners. Their narration introduced four major topics, also presented in the thesis and supported by arguments: individual’s experience, relationship, relationship with other people and a different evaluation of one’s own life and future. The results of the research somehow confirm the theoretical assumptions of medical experts, while, on the other hand, they offer an insight into the emotional intimacy of a relationship, which is often overlooked by the society. The author highlights shortcomings of the conducted research and provides possible guidelines for future work. In the conclusion, she mentions what the role and task of every individual and the society in general is when they meet couples struggling with infertility.
