magistrsko delo
Abstract
V magistrskem delu smo predstavili pojem pouka v naravi.

Mathematics learning and teaching in nature in the first grade of elementary school |
Secondary abstract: |
Mathematics is a very important and key concept that connects different aspects of our lives and helps us understand and interact with our environment. It is therefore crucial how pedagogical workers present mathematics to pupils in the earliest stages of their primary education. It is vital that teachers try to motivate pupils to learn the basic concepts of mathematics and actively engage them. However, in the recent years, statistical data has shown that motivation for learning mathematics during the first yearsof primary school is strongly decreasing.
In this work we present the concept of teaching a class in nature. We identify the positive effects and challenges of outdoor learning and present how learning in an outdoor environment can be merged with learning mathematics. We research the conceptof motivation, look into different kinds of educational motivation and present how pupils can be more motivated for learning mathematics. One of the ways to increase motivation is teaching the mathematics class in an outdoor environment.
The purpose of this work was to empirically establish whether the pupils in the first year of primary school get more motivated when math classes are held outside. Secondly, the goal was to present positive effects of teaching mathematics outside to primary school teachers and show them innovative ways of teaching mathematics outside of the classroom. Furthermore, we researched whether primary school teachers are familiar with the pedagogical/didactic approach of teaching mathematics outside, how often they use this approach and what their opinions are about teaching classes – specifically mathematics – in an outdoor environment. The results have shown that the motivation for learning mathematics among pupils has indeed increased. It has been foundthat primary school teachers are familiar with this approach and that they are keen on implementing it more often. Teachers have also stated that they think teaching mathematics in an outdoor environment is beneficial for the quality of learning. However, they wished that ideas for such form of classes were more readily available for implementation. |
