Secondary title: | Sociological aspects of using medicinal herbs |
Secondary abstract: | Searching for remedies in herbs is one of the oldest practices of self-healing while herbalism is one of the oldest healing methods which endured in its existence despite the rise of conventional medicine. Whenever there are doubts and refusals of the latter, interest for traditional medicine expectedly grows. An increasing number of people make use of holistic methods while generating trust using information from the "other side". Alternate healing practices, such as herbalism, do not pose a threat to conventional medicine, but rather exist alongside with it and represent an alternative option to the public healthcare. |
