Abstract

Izpostavili smo štiri pomembne pokazatelje duševnega zdravja ob izgubi bližnjega, in sicer posttravmatsko rast, posttravmatsko stresno motnjo, nadaljujoči se odnos s pokojnikom in socialno oporo ob izgubi. V ta namen smo uporabili vprašalnik nadaljevanja vezi s pokojnikom in lestvico nadaljevanja vezi (lestvici internaliziranega in eksternaliziranega nadaljujočega se odnosa), vprašalnik posttravmatske stresne motnje, vprašalnik posttravmatske rasti in vprašalnik socialne opore.

Secondary abstract: The purpose of the master's thesis was to examine the role of selected mental health indicators in people who are grieving a loss. We highlighted four important indicators of mental health in the event of the loss of a loved one, namely post-traumatic growth, post-traumatic stress disorder, continuing bond with the deceased, and social support during bereavement. For this purpose, the questionnaire Continuing Bonds Scale (consisting of internalized and externalized scales), the Inventory for Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder, the Post-Traumatic Growth Inventory and the Social Support Inventory were used. The results of the study showed that post-traumatic growth of the bereaved is best predicted by an internalized continuing bond. Post-traumatic stress disorder is statistically significantly associated with externalized continuing bond, while post-traumatic growth is associated with internalized continuing bond with the deceased. Despite the fact that the symptoms of post-traumatic stress disorder decrease slightly with time, we did not show a negative connection between these two notions. The bereaved who have lost a loved one to violent death (suicide) have been shown to experience more symptoms of post-traumatic stress disorder than those who have experienced the nonviolent loss. Contrary to expectations, however, expected death was shown to be statistically significantly associated with posttraumatic growth. The results imply that bereavement can lead to post-traumatic growth or to more complex grieving processes.
