magistrsko delo
Abstract
Policisti so kljub novi in neznani grožnji opravljali svoje delo v času epidemije SARS-CoV-2 uspešno in učinkovito.

Work of the slovenian police during the sars-cov-2 coronavirus epidemic |
Secondary abstract: |
Safety is a very important asset, which we must protect. We know various institutions, that protect our safety, such as the police, the army and private security firms. Up until now we were used to our safety being jeopardized by culprits, natural disasters and other threats that we are aware of. But when a new form of threat appears, it is problematic. Such a threat occured in the winter of 2019 in the Chinese city of Wuhan. A new kind of coronavirus named SARS-CoV-2 quickly started to spread. It spreads by droplets or by touching surfaces where the virus is located. The symptoms of the virus are very similar to those of the common flu, which are fever, coughing, sneezing and less commonly heavy breathing. The virus endangeres older people with chronic diseases the most. The coronavirus endangered our safety in such extent, that the government of the Republic of Slovenia pronounced an epidemic. In our master thesis we tried to describe the work of police in the time of the epidemic SARS-CoV-2. We did it by conducting interviews at the police stations in Brnik, Kranjska gora, Kranj, Koper, Ljubljana, Maribor, Nova Gorica and Murska Sobota. Based on the answers we got we can conclude that the police officer’s biggest challenge was to stay healthy and prevent the spread of the virus onto other people. Even with pursuance of the safety measures provided, the police officers felt more endangered as they were before the virus. As a part of our master thesis we also conducted a survey with which we checked the satisfaction of the Slovenian people in the time of the epidemic SARS-CoV-2. The survey’s answers showed, that most of the Slovenians are satisfied with the police and that they support their work. Despite the new and unknown threat of SARS-CoV-2, the Slovenian police did a great and effective job. |
