Abstract

Uvod: Kronične rane so naraščajoč problem sodobne družbe, število obolelih se vsako leto zvišuje in povzroča zmanjšano kakovost življenja bolnikov, s tem posledično tudi vpliva na že obremenjen zdravstveni sistem. Namen raziskave je ugotoviti, katera področja življenja bolnikov s kronično rano so najbolj prizadeta oz. najnižje ocenjena. Uporabljen je bil validiran anketni vprašalnik za ocenjevanje kakovosti življenja bolnikov s kronično rano »Questionnaire on quality of life with chronic wounds«.

Secondary title: Quality of life in patients with chronic wound
Secondary abstract: Introduction: Chronic wounds are an increasing problem in modern society, the number of patients is getting higher yearly causing a reduction in the quality of patient’s life. This has resulted to a series of impacts in the already burdened health system. The purpose of the research is to determine which areas of life in patients with chronic wounds are the most affected or the lowest rated. Methods: The study involved 82 patients in the chronic wound clinic. We brought the already validated questionnaire “Questionnaire on quality of life with chronic wounds” into use. Microsoft Office Excel 2016 and IBM SPSS 20 were used to analyze the data. Results: It was discovered that chronic wounds affect all areas of an individual’s life. They have the greatest effect on the mental state (x̄ = 2,08; s = 1,01) and the least on the physical state (x̄ = 1,23; s = 0,86). It was also found that the quality of life in patients with a chronic wound was not age or sex related to the patient, nor was it related to the length of the presence of the chronic wound. Discussion and conclusion: Chronic wounds are a rising problem in healthcare because they affect all areas of the patient’s life and seriously burdens the health system. Therefore, it is desirable that this task would be a starting point for further research in this direction, as we found that they are very rare on this particular subject in Slovenia.
