Abstract

Secondary title: Transition from individual to lean and agile mass production
Secondary abstract: Companies often see an increase in economic efficiency in investments in machinery and equipment and automation of the production process, but they must ask themselves whether the cost of the product will be too high and thus a small profit or not at all. The answer to such a question can be obtained using the proposed cost and time method of VSM and portfolio analysis of leanness and agility. This is clearly illustrated by the task in which the results of the theoretical and experimental analysis of the transition from individual to lean and agile serial production through a concrete example in the company SME are presented. We designed a lean production process and at the same time determined the responsiveness of the considered production system to changes in the market (agility). A simulation program was developed, with which we regularly checked the cost and economic effects of the changes. Based on this case, we have developed and proposed a generalized procedure that is suitable for all SME companies that will face issues of transition from individual production to lean and agile serial production.
