magistrsko delo

Abstract

Secondary title: The role of employee skills in the workplace
Secondary abstract: The master's thesis deals with the importance of soft and hard skills among employees. We are interested in what kind of skills are more important to employers and which they believe has a key impact on employee performance. We are also interested in the extent to which employers provide their employees with training and how are those trainings organized. The topic is newsworthy because today we are becoming more aware of the importance of not only achieving the result, but also of the path, along which we will achieve the desired result. In the past, having enough knowledge of the field of work and having the necessary expertise was enough for professional success, but today, a great deal of attention must also be paid to colleagues and clients. The problem arises since in Slovenia and also wider, education system is still designed to place greater emphasis on acquiring hard skills and not developing soft skills on purpose, but rather at random. During the Master's thesis we will present the theory of soft and hard skills, training of both and their importance. We will present the results of the Employer Opinion Survey on hard and soft skills, and finally give our opinion on the importance of both – hard and soft skills.
