Abstract

Diplomska naloga je osredotočena na obravnavo pojma varnosti na potniških ladjah, od same izgradnje ladje do varnostne opreme za potnike in posadko v primeru nesreče. Opisani sta navigacijska in reševalna oprema, ki sta prisotni na ladji in se uporabljata v primeru potrebe po zapuščanju ladje. V nalogi je podrobneje opisana in predstavljena Mednarodna konvencija o varstvu človeškega življenja na morju (SOLAS), ki velja tudi za potniške ladje. Kot primer hujše nesreče so prikazani kronološki potek in ukrepi ob reševanju pri nesreči potniške ladje Costa Concordia, ki se je zgodila leta 2012 ob obali italijanskega otoka Giglio.

Secondary abstract:	The thesis focuses on the concept of security on cruise ships, from the very construction of a ship to the safety equipment for passengers and crew in the event of an accident. The thesis offers a description of the navigation and rescue equipment used in case of need to leave the ship. A special focus is given to the International Convention for the Safety of Life at Sea (SOLAS), which also applies to passenger ships. As an example of a serious accident, the thesis presents the chronological course and rescue measures taken during the Costa Concordia passenger ship accident, which occurred in 2012 off the coast of the Italian Giglio Island.
