Abstract

V skladnosti s pravilnikom smo prek teoretičnega preračuna dimenzionirali sistem in razvili nove komponente s cilji čim nižje mase in boljših zavornih sposobnosti vozila.

Secondary title: Formula Student vehicle brake system development, design and testing
Secondary abstract: In the 2018/2019 season our team Superior Engineering designed and manufactured a new race car with which we took part in the official international Formula Student competitions. One of our priorities in the construction phase of the project was to upgrade the existing braking system and the pedalbox. In keeping with the rule books and with the use of theoretical calculations we carried out the system dimensioning, developed new light-weight components and improved the braking properties of the vehicle. We achieved this with measurements on our previous race cars, by data acquisition while driving and by testing the braking components on specialised testbenches. After the braking system has been assembled and tested, we were able to confirm the agreement between the theoretical assumptions of the calculations and the actual values. The end result is a well dimensioned braking system with a weight reduction of each individual component.
