Abstract

Cilj magistrske naloge je razviti in izdelati pametno palico za slepe in slabovidne osebe z uporabo mikrokrmilnika na podlagi ARM arhitektur. Z uporabo ultrazvočne metode merjenja razdalje zaznavamo ovire pred pametno palico. Elektronski kompas omogoča lažjo orijentacijo za slepe ali slabovidne osebe v prostoru. Vgrajeni algoritem za kompenzacijo za motnje trdega in mehkega železa(angl. Hard-Iron, and Soft-Iron Effects) pa omogoča njegovo večjo natančnost. Globalni sistem pozicioniranja smo uporabili z namenom zajemanja na tistih problematičnih lokacij, pri katerih se slepa ali slabovidna oseba zaradi motenj ne more zanašati na elektronski kompas.

Secondary title: Development of a smart white cane for blind and visually-impaired persons by using ARM microcontroller
Secondary abstract: The aim of the master's thesis is to develop and produce a smart white cane for blind and visually impaired people which uses a microcontroller based on ARM architecture. Using ultrasonic distance measuring system detects obstacles in front of the smart white cane. The electronic compass makes it easier for blind and visually impaired people to orientate in space. The implemented algorithm for the compensation of Hard-Iron and Soft-Iron Effects enables its better precision. Global Positioning System is used for capturing problematic locations, where a blind or visually impaired person, because of disturbance, cannot rely on the electronic compass.
