Abstract

Motnje avtističnega spektra so zelo kompleksne razvojno-nevrološke motnje. Pridobljene podatke smo statistično obdelali, analizirali in predstavili s pomočjo programov Microsoft Office Excel in Word. Dobro osveščanje o motnjah avtističnega spektra zelo pomembno pripomore k strpnosti in razumevanju posameznikov s to motnjo.

Secondary title: Knowledge of autism spectrum disorder among students
Secondary abstract: Autism spectrum disorders are very complex developmental - neurological disorders. Their characteristic is that they are all vital, which means that individual characteristics accompany the individual throughout development. As they are considered to be the fastest growing disorders, we wanted to investigate the knowledge of autism spectrum disorders among students of three faculties in northeastern Slovenia. Quantitative research methodology was used in the preparation of the diploma thesis. To collect data, we used a survey questionnaire that we structured ourselves. The research was conducted among students of health, social and natural sciences in the northeastern part of Slovenia. The obtained data were statistically processed, analyzed and presented with the help of Microsoft Office Excel and Word. 102 students were included in the study. Through research, we found that students are familiar with autism spectrum disorders, but their knowledge of this disorder in certain areas is not so good. We attribute this fact to the fact that they do not meet very often with individuals with autism spectrum disorders. More knowledge on the topic of autism spectrum disorder was demonstrated by health science students. Good awareness of autism spectrum disorders is very important in contributing to the tolerance and understanding of individuals with this disorder. Promotions and research in this field can help to better identify and increase the level of knowledge.
