Abstract

Branje je dejavnost, s katero se ljudje srečujemo vsakodnevno, zato je potrebno krepiti bralno zmožnost posameznika, saj le ta omogoča aktivno sodelovanje v svetu. Možno jo je krepiti na več načinov. Ena izmed teh je tudi prostovoljna dejavnost bralna značka, s pomočjo katere smo izvedli raziskavo. V teoretičnem delu smo sprva opredelili branje in razložili, zakaj je za posameznika in za širšo družbo sploh pomembno. Opredelili smo tudi bralno motivacijo in bralno pismenost, ki sta ključni za kakovostno branje. V nadaljevanju smo se osredotočili na spodbujanje branja, tako s strani staršev kot učiteljev. Posebno pozornost smo namenili prostovoljni dejavnosti bralna značka. Na kratko smo opisali njen razvoj skozi leta in njene primarne cilje. Nekaj besed smo namenili priporočilnim seznamom, ki jih oblikujejo učitelji sami in služijo kot smernice učencem za branje kakovostnih mladinskih del. Na koncu smo navedli tudi kriterije, s pomočjo katerih lahko ocenjujemo primernost literarnih del. Prav z njimi smo si pomagali pri raziskavi. Glavni del magistrskega dela zajema analizo primernosti prebranih knjig četrtošolcev v šolskem letu 2017/2018 in 2020/2021, kjer smo preučevali, ali so izbrane knjige primerne glede na starost učencev, vsebino, jezikovno razumevanje, obliko in dolžino. Analizirali smo prebrane naslove knjig obeh šolskih let.

Secondary title: Selection of books for The Reading Badge: example for the fourth grade of primary school
Secondary abstract: Reading is an activity that people encounter daily. Because of this fact, it is important to enhance the reading capabilities of individuals, for it enables a collaboration with the world. It is possible to enhance reading capabilities in various ways. One possibility is the voluntary activity Reading Badge, which was used to help us during with our research. In the theoretical part we define reading and explicate, why reading is important for the individual and the public. We also define reading motivation and literacy, which are of key importance for quality reading. Afterwards we focus on the encouragement of reading, which is done by teachers and parents. We dedicate special attention towards the voluntary activity Reading Badge. We describe its development and growth through the years and its primary goals. Some attention was also dedicated to the lists of recommended literature, which are curated by teachers and serve as guidelines for pupils reading works of youth literature. At the end we list the criteria, which help us evaluate the suitability of literary works. These helped us during our research. The main part of the thesis paper encompasses the analysis of the suitability of books, read by pupils in the fourth grade, during the school years 2017/2018 and 2020/2021. In the analysis, we determine if the selected books were suitable, by considering the age of the pupils, the content of the books, language comprehension, form, and length. For that purpose, we also analysed the titles of books read by the pupils during both school years.
