Abstract

Secondary title: Influence of environment on the quality of life: comparison between Ljubljana and Frankfurt in reference to air quality and economic factors
Secondary abstract: In this thesis we have considered the influence of ecological and economic factors on the quality of life in the cities of Ljubljana and Frankfurt Main. To explore quality of life, we focused on air quality and economic status, identifying how both cities result by comparing air pollution and economic status as quality of living space. To explore air quality, we compared and analyzed air pollution concerning particulate matter. We also compared the stand of both cities' economies through the analysis of their markets. Our general goal was to find out, which city offers a better quality of life considering explored factors. Regarding air quality, Ljubljana is a relative winner, because its PM2,5, which are the most harmful in its class, are at lower levels. Economically, one has more career opportunities to work in big firms and develop professionally in Frankfurt. The choice is left to each individual because criteria (standards) depend on priorities of each specific individual.
