| Secondary abstract: | On the basis of sociolinguistic interviews with speakers from the Idrija region, the article deals with experiences and attitudes regarding different language varieties in educational environments: informants attended grammar school in their home town, secondary school and university mostly in Ljubljana; adult informants now have children at school. The findings illuminate language variation and communication from the sociopsychological point of view and testify to its complexity; they additionally point to different language stereotypes and prejudices. |
