Abstract

Zmerna telesna dejavnost in uravnotežena zdrava prehrana sta ena izmed pomembnejših dejavnikov za zdravje človeka in ob enem kazalnika kakovosti življenjskega sloga posameznika.

Secondary title: Lifestyle of students in Poljane student dorm
Secondary abstract: Moderate physical activity and a balanced healthy diet present two of the most important factors and indicators of health and quality of life. The lifestyle of an individual changes significantly upon enrolling into college and during university years. Increased study obligations and extracurricular activities, together with the experience of true independence, may impact our lifestyle choices. The aim of this thesis was to examine eating habits and physical activity levels among students residing in the Student dorm Poljane, and to compare the gender differences in eating habits and physical activity. The data was obtained via questionnaire, consisted of 31 questions with emphasis on eating habits and weekly and weekend physical activity. Data was extracted from the web page 1ka, and statistically analysed in IBM SPSS 25. The results suggests that males achieved higher levels of vigorous physical activity (p=0,044) and spent less sedentary (p=0,004) as females. Males consumed more meals than females (p=0,034), although, their eating habits were worse than females, due to higher consumption of fast food (p
