Abstract

Opisane so tudi vrste napadalcev in posledice napadov. V raziskovalnem delu smo si postavili raziskovalna vprašanja o zavedanju mladostnikov glede nevarnosti spletnega socialnega inženiringa. S pomočjo namensko pripravljenega vprašalnika smo izvedli raziskavo. Prejete anketne vprašalnike smo uredili, statistično obdelali, ter rezultate ustrezno predstavili. Rezultati raziskave kažejo, da je stopnja ozaveščenosti glede spletnega socialnega inženiringa proučevane populacije razmeroma nizka. Statistično značilnih razlik ni bilo moč potrditi niti glede na posamezno starostno skupino (14-19 let in 20-25 let) niti glede na spol anketirancev.

Secondary title: Awareness of young adults about web-based social engineering attacks
Secondary abstract: Young people are coming of age in an era of modern communication technology, which develops more and more with every passing day. As a result, their trust in such technologies and specifically the internet is considerable, perhaps excessive. Our objective is accordingly to conduct a study that researches how much young people know about online social engineering and to what extent they realize their level of exposure to and the danger of such attacks. This undergraduate thesis is comprised of two parts; the theoretical part provides a background for a discussion of online security, explaining the subjects of social engineering, its types, and the motives encouraging attackers. Here there is a special focus on online social engineering. Attackers themselves are described, along with the repercussions of their attacks. The theoretical part also raises research questions about young people’s awareness about the dangers of online social engineering. A dedicated questionnaire was used to conduct the research. Completed questionnaires were processed for statistical analysis and their results were presented. Said results indicate that the target demographic’s level of awareness about social engineering was relatively low. There were no statistically significant differences to be found regardless of age demographic (14-19 years and 20-25), nor in terms of respondents’ gender.
