diplomsko delo univerzitetnega študijskega programa Varstvoslovje
Abstract
Našteli in s pomočjo statističnih podatkov smo opisali nekaj najpogosteje uporabljenih drog na Nizozemskem. S tortnim diagramom smo prikazali delež uporabnikov petih najpogosteje uporabljenih prepovedanih drog in jih primerjali z mednarodnim povprečjem. Opisali smo njihove značilnosti (življenjski slog, izobrazba, zaposlitev), njihovo vlogo v svetu drog in nekatere njihove zgodbe.
V zadnjem delu naloge smo se posvetili preventivnim in operativnim ukrepom v domeni Evropske unije. Omenili in opisali smo nekaj agencij in programov v domeni Evropske unije, ki so aktivni na področju organiziranega kriminala in posledično prepovedanih drog.

Rotterdam as a illicit drug entry point |
Secondary abstract: |
Illegal drugs are substances that cause psychological and physical changes in a person when introduced into the human body. The use of illegal drugs is quite widespread nowadays, mainly due to the relatively easy availability and purchase. The availability and purchase of illegal drugs are closely linked to their import. Most illegal drugs are imported through major state ports and airports. Because of its excellent strategic location, good infrastructure, and geographical specifications, Rotterdam is an excellent point for the development of organized crime and an excellent entry point for illegal drugs into Europe.
In the introductory part of the bachelor’s thesis, we defined certain concepts that appear through the thesis most of the time. In the first part of the thesis, we focused on illegal drug trends in the Netherlands and their imports. We listed the countries of origin from which most drugs come and described the methods of drug smuggling used by organized criminal groups. We listed and used statistics to describe some of the most commonly used drugs in the Netherlands. By the pie chart, we showed the proportion of users of the five most commonly used illegal drugs and compared them with the international average. In the second part of the thesis, we focused on the port of Rotterdam and described its geographical location and characteristics. We listed and described the main authorities that take care of the smooth operation of the entire complex and its security. We described how port authorities work to ensure port security and the methods they use to detect illegal shipments. We also discussed drug sellers and buyers in the Rotterdam area. We described their characteristics (lifestyle, education, and employment), their role in the world of drugs, and some of their stories.
In the last part of the thesis, we focused on preventive and operational measures in the domain of the European Union. We mentioned and described some agencies and programs in the domain of the European Union that are active in the field of organized crime and, consequently, illegal drugs. |
